Character Voiceover That Breathes Life Into Your Story

Animated? Imaginative? Or deeply real? Characters don’t just speak — they feel. And if your script needs a voice that can bring the emotion, nuance, or quirk that makes it stick… let’s talk

I’m Jennifer Tzoumas — a professional voice actor with a background in commercial, corporate, and medical narration, and a growing body of work in character voiceover. While character voice acting is a newer focus in my booked projects, it’s long been central to how I approach storytelling, performance, and emotional connection.

Years of voiceover training, studio discipline, and a deep respect for story shape every character voiceover performance I deliver. Whether it’s a snarky teen, a grounded guide, or a quietly complex presence, my approach to character voice acting is rooted in psychological insight and emotional truth — not exaggeration for its own sake. That perspective is what allows character voiceover to work far beyond cartoons, showing up in animation, education, healthcare simulations, and interactive media, as I explore in Why Character Voiceover Isn’t Just for Cartoons.

My background in acting also informs how I approach character voiceover sessions. I visualize scenes, track emotional beats, and respond with intention — not just volume. Some of the most effective character voice acting is subtle and supportive, especially in explainer videos and educational content, where the voice needs to guide rather than distract. I talk more about this approach in Teaching with Personality: How Animated Explainers Help Kids Learn.

Character voiceover is where the voice gets to play — thoughtfully. Before I hit record, I ask one simple question: What would make this character feel real to the listener?

That creative pause before the take is where the work truly begins.

Studio-Quality Audio

Broadcast-ready audio is my baseline. I record in a professionally treated home studio using high-quality equipment and clean signal paths.

You’ll get files that sound polished, consistent, and ready to drop into your project without extra work.

Quick turnaround and clear communication are part of the package — so you can keep your timeline moving without tech headaches.

Wide Emotional Range

Character voiceover isn’t about just changing your pitch — it’s about emotional depth.

I bring grounded energy to serious scenes and full expression to whimsical roles. From subtle inflection shifts to big emotional swings, I treat each read like a performance with real stakes.

Whether your character needs heart, humor, grit, or vulnerability — I’ll meet them there.

True Creative Partner

You’re not hiring a voice — you’re hiring a collaborator.

I treat your script with the same care you do, staying flexible to your direction and responsive to feedback.

If something isn’t hitting quite right, we’ll tweak it together.

My job isn’t just to “say the lines” — it’s to help your vision come to life, with a voice that feels real, expressive, and fully present.

My Process (Simple & Clear)

1. Send Me Your Script
Let me know what you need and where the voiceover will be used.

2. Get a Quote + Direction Chat

I’ll send you a prompt quote and we’ll align on tone, pace, and delivery style.

3. Receive Clean, Ready-to-Use Audio
I record, edit, and deliver broadcast-quality audio—usually within 24 hours.  If preferred, we can set up a live-directed recording session where you can give me live feedback.

4. Approve or Request a Tweak
Small revisions are always welcome. Once approved, I’ll invoice you.

5. You Launch with Confidence

Celebration time!
